Decrease taxes on middle and lower incomes, while keeping tax rates the same on highest earners. Increase the rax rate on corporate earnings to provide great incentive for reinvestment. Focus on cutting expenses to acheive a balanced budget.
In order to have a well functioning economy that can lift a nation to prosperity we need people to be able to afford to buy things and services in order to create jobs which will allow more people to buy things and services. To achieve this goal, we need to work to keep the tax rate as low as possible.
On the flip side, we have a massive national debt that has been accumulated terrible money management. It is currently a little over 23 trillion dollars, that works out to about $83,000 per person living in the United States. To start to pay back this debt, we propose that we raise the tax on corporate earnings to 90%. This was also done under the Eisenhower administration in order to fund the Interstate system along with other infrastructure projects. It also causes corporations to be more inclined to spend earnings on wages, expansion, and upgrades rather than pay the money in taxes. All those things generate more jobs and distribute the money back down from the top earners to the middle and lower classes.
To prevent the national debt from continuing to grow, we need a Constitional ammendment that prevents anyone in Congress or the President from being able to run for office again if they spend more than is available unless their is a surplus of cash from previous years.
Climate change is real. However our infrastructure, our economy and our lives are built on fossil fuels and we cannot immediatly upend that, we must work to increase our ability to utilize renewables. Nuclear is also a great short term solution to reducing our CO2 emissions.
We need career politicians. Their knowledge and experience is invaluable, however after enough years working at the same job with the same people, anyone can start to get to relaxed and develop relationships which start to effect the integrity of their work. We are proposing term limits for those in Congress and the most powerful positions. We also need increased oversight and transparency. In addition current contracts are what they are, but compensation for future employees being paid by the Federal government should never exceed four times the average Americans wage, and most much closer to the average wage. This will give the added incentive to raise all Americans wages. It is also fair, their wages are being paid for by tax dollars paid by average Americans.
Whats the question?
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
It is in the Constitution, so except through a Constitional amendment, States or the Federal government should not infringe upon this right.
1. Build an entertaining area on the East Lawn to improve relations with foreign heads of state and their embassadors. Everyone loves beer, barbeque and bonfires.
2. Speak softly and carry a large stick. We spend more on our military than the next ten countries combined, it is the powerful in the world, and as such we need to act like it. That is not saying we can be a bully or act arrogant, however if we are attacked or seriously threatened, we need to not be afraid to defend ourselves. And that means defending ourselves such that the threat is elimated and in a way that sends a message to others thinking of doing to same.
3. The United States has not been appointed to be the World Police, that is a task better handled by an organization such as the United Nations. We need to worry more about ourselves and less about our neighbors while continuing to back up and provide leadership in all UN supported missions.
We are a nation built by immigrants, and anyone who arrives in good faith should be allowed in. After a short background check everyone should be allowed in, and if after a number of years they have proven able to support themselves and be law abiding members of society, be given full citizenship and all of the protections offered by the United States government. Failure to do so should result in them being returned to their home country.
Making drugs illegal has cost the taxpayers money to enforce, increased violence, caused the United States to have one of the largest prison populations, and has not stopped the use of drugs.
Legalizing them will increase tax revenue, allow safety and quality control and improve treatment options for those seeking them.
Healthcare and health insurance should not threaten to bankrupt anybody. The cost of health insurance is almost directly tied to the cost of healthcare. If the price of healthcare is reduced, the problems with health insurance will be greatly reduced. We need to work to lower the cost of healthcare by implimenting a system for transparent pricing, reducing the reliance on drugs, promoting a spirit of competition, and reducing the cost of liabilty for healthcare providers.
Transparent Pricing
Nobody would goto a restaurant and order off a menu without prices and then just accept it when a bill came in the mail a few weeks later. We like to know how much we are spending so we can make informed decisions, why is Healthcare any different? Hospitals and doctors offices need to have prices clearly listed and explained before procedures are preformed.
Reducing Reliance on Drugs
Why do we accept that there are drug representatives whose job it is to go around to doctors offices and provide meals and other perks in exchange for the doctor prescribing their medicine. Doctors should decide what drugs they are prescribing based on clinical trails and scientific evidence. Also lifestyle changes should be promoted in place of drugs in cases where it is applicable.
Promoting Competition
Competition drives down prices while increasing the quality of a product, the same would be true for healthcare. Doctors and hospitals should be required to have information about their prices, statistics about the procedures they have performed along with customer reviews available to the general public.
Reducing Liability
Right now there is a large strain on hospitals administrators, doctors and nurses to document everything in an attempt to limit liablity in the case they are sued. We need to enact laws which limit the liability of healthcare workers as long as their actions were reasonable and in good faith. This will free up time for doctors and nurses to provide better care for patients and for more patients and also reduce the administrative costs.
We do not need to have the largest military in order to have the best and most powerful military. The United States currently spends more on our military than the next ten countries combined. We need to reduce the amount of active members while taking greater care of those currently in the military and our veterans. All while continuing to focus on research and development of future technologies.
